WBUR 90.9, public radio wanted to transform their existing office space at 890 Commonwealth Avenue into a state-of-the-art office space to coincide with their existing, high-tech studios. KSID
worked with the radio station in three phases to accomplish this goal. Phase 1 encompassed the complete renovation of the reception area which challenged the design team to design a cutting-edge look that emulated the vision of the radio station. Phase 2 incorporated a re-design of the existing open office space complete with new collaborative furnishings and finishes. For the final phase, KSID worked with WBUR to expand their offices into the adjacent building at 888 Commonwealth Avenue with the construction of a new bridge connecting the two spaces and creating a seamless transition between buildings. The addition provided additional private and open office space, conference and collaboration areas, a new studio and editing rooms. The scope of work for the project included space planning, architectural and interior design, furniture selection and specification, and construction administration for all phases of the project.
